Casa Pequeña
Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico
2019-2022
Nestled in the heart of the Yucatan jungles, Casa Pequeña is one of the first residences in the Altozano community of Mérida. This 944 square meter (10,160 sf) home features a minimalist take on modern Mediterranean design, offering 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths with a high-tech edge. The roof is equipped with 48 solar panels, significantly reducing reliance grid power, while foam insulated concrete blocks on the exterior walls help mitigate solar gain. Given the Yucatan Peninsula's hot and humid climate, traditional cooling methods are employed, utilizing cross-ventilation to maintain natural airflow throughout the home.
